Next,

2005 will be a VERY busy year for Dance Ens. as we prepare ourselves once agan for SYF, Danceworks, your new school premises official opening (it's SUPPOSED to be completed next year right?) and possibly fufilling my dream of taking you gals out of singapore. (and No it's not sentosa!)

After nearly 2 years of collaboration with you and your various teachers, we have managed to transform Dance Ensemble into a prestigious CCA. The next step is for you to prove that dancers are both cool AND SMART . So, for the moment, Leave all your excitement behind. For now, just focus on your academics ok? Good luck for your exams!!

I'll start brainstorming with you gals for concepts on Danceworks AND SYF after your exams...

To all the 2003/2004 Dance EXCO members who recently handed over the duties,

Thank you for the time, efforts and work you've put into Dance Ensemble for the past 12 months. It's been fun collaborating with you gals.. YOU all ROCK!

Also, this is currently UNOFFICIAL news, some of you gals may already know that I have an intention to start another Dance ensemble (a non profit society), mainly to cater for those who are graduating really soon and for those who have ALREADY GRADUATED. Well, sort of an ALUMNI dancers. Whether this society will or will not be officially affliated to your school is still a BIG question mark. However, using the Toa Payoh's Tech block's dance studio for weekly meetings and activites should not be a big problem.

Right now, I need to gather a list of those who may be interested to join IF this society materialises. Those of you who are graduating or have graduated and are interested in this idea, Please drop me an email (taycw@declaffer.com). Please include the following:

1) Your contact details,
2) the year you graduated
3) your current occupation
4) A short introduction of yourself (if I don't know you)
5) your various interest in the various dance genres

I will call for an unofficial meeting sometime in December to discuss this idea in more details.

My goal for this society is big: To start it up initially as a 'alumni' for people to comeback and dance and enjoy yourselves.. but slowly, with my contacts and your talents, develop it into a professional dance company.

One thing for sure, if this society materialises, it will not focus solely on ballet. We will explore other dance genres too!

the performance has been cancelled as the date is TOO near the prelims and the teachers will be having a seminar so they can't go either.
 
so all planned training sesssions have been cancelled.
 
those who are concerned about their CIP hours, we are scheduling a FLAG DAY where you can complete your 6 hrs on 1 saturday.
 
Miss teow is checking if she can get the flag day earlier because the current date is after the sec 4's physics prelim.

if u wanna tag, then leave a nice msg. but if u have ANY problem WHATSOEVER with kyna, teng ming or ANYONE belonging to IJ Dance Ensemble, please go pick a fight somewhere else. this is a blog for the dancers and not for pple to insult the dancers cos of some personal issue. if u're not happy with them, u tell them elsewhere but NOT on the dance tagboard.
if u TRY and come back with that whole "freedom of speech" thing. u can take it and leave cos by not leaving a name and insulting others, u're not one to talk abt freedom. after all, if u were really "free", u wouldn't be hiding behind a computer screen, cos by doing so, u're showing that u're not "free" from u're FEAR of them.
 
so in conclusion: the tagboard is mostly for dancers and pple who wanna leave nice msges. those who have other things to say which are not welcome are "free" to leave.

MEANING: You do not vote for the person JUST BEACUSE she's a good dancer. This also applies to the fact that you DO NOT vote for the person because you think she's
-got a good body
-has nice hair
-is nice to you
-is really pretty
-is really popular
- is funny
-is tall
-has nice legs
-dancers super well
ETC

Bare in mind that whoever you elect has the authority and RESPONSIBILITY to lead you guys and bring Dance Ensemble to greater heights.

You can hate the person to the core, but if she's the one you better vote for her.

This is NOT something personal.

It's really something for EVERYONE and most importantly for DANCE ENSEMBLE.

Hey ya here are the steps for sec 1's or any of u who need help.

1) Get the username and password from corinne or
me or anyone who has it .
2) Log on to the ij dance account.
3) send an invite to yourself.
4) LOG OUT!!!!!!!!!! remember LOG OUT!!!!!!!!!!
5) Then Log in to your own blog account..if u dont have a blog skip this step.
6) After that go to your e-mail and open the invite.
7) You will be redirected to a page that ask u to accep it....ACCEPT IT.
8) If u followed what i told u carefully, u will return to your account and on your
dash board, u will have ur own blog and the dance blog.
9) START POSTING!!!!!!!!!!!!!

as you all noe, dance and drama night is well, just around the corner. i decided to come here to leave u all a message! since the skool hols are here, this gives us a greater opportuniy to work the dance routines.. i can fully assure u that every single one of u will be going crazy with the dance schedule! i am too! haha and as much as i'm gonna tell u to have fun, i'm also gonna be a nag and tell u all that you HAVE TO and i stress on the word HAVE to work your cute lil butts off! if u're not stressed abt how we're gonna be able to produce a FANTABULOUS dance and drama night, you should be. cos with the time constraint and other certain constraints, we're all pretty worried. and if YOU don't do ur fair share of stressing, ur stage managers are just gonna hafta do it for u! that means i'll be even WORSE to ya'll during practices!!!! MUAHAHAHAHAH kristy might still be as nice but i won't! hahaha especially since my close frens would noe how much i love to stress!

Non-danceworks members can also come and the other special thing about that day is that it's Chee Wei's birthday. Ok, it purposely conincided becuz Chee Wei has been helping us A LOT...

so the plan will probably be we swim first then chee wei comes ok? ahhahahah! :P

i'm so proud of you guys: jam and fling! all your work paid off!!! and corinne, i totally agree with you... i think we are all in need of a celebration cause i think that all three teams have earned it. i'm so happy for all you! but, remember!!! the worst is not over... results for the teams which have made it into the finals are on the 14th of march. *bites fingernails* i really hope that IJ will get into the finals and establish an awesome reputation for dance. IJ dance ensemble WILL be a force to be reckoned with in the future. lets work towards that!

Due to the overwhelming response for participants in Catagory !! (Secondary), lots were drawn to decide which team goes on which day. There are 4 preliminary rounds altogether - A, B, C, D. IJ had been selected for Preliminary A (Sizzle) and B (Fling, Jam). All dancers MUST go down and support them on those days!

PS: A Danceworks! 2003 VCD of 2 discs of the finals has been given to us. It consists of all the participating teams who got into the finals including IJ. it's looking SUPER prettyyyy!!! and it totally stands out from the rest of the other CCAs, im just wondering why we have such a small space?? im annoyed at the school you, talk about prejudice and favourism..i'll spit on that i tell you...*PUI*!!!! GRRR...but who cares about those idiots, they KNOW all to well that dance is good, but obviously to unwilling to admit it, especially that miss tan, come and say if we get gold then can go to AUST...what a hypocrite, sooo obviously scorning us ^%%$^#%#%^#^%&...and then the whole day come and preech to us about seeing possiblities and seizing oppurtunities...YAR RIGHT...she doesn't practice what she preech...seeing possibilties my foot!!!

you know what's the worst thing about dance? i think it's the communication problem..messages never seem to get around properly man.. :( like what i wrote below...SOMEHOW we all got confused ans some of ust thought that mrs zailee was the one who chaired the meeting and yada yada yada..GRRRRRR...but it's like almost IMPOSSIBLE to fix the situation...

i think if you're reading this like at around 7pm you should have ALREADY been informed of tomorrow's pratice!! sorry all of you cant be performing though!! the stage is too small and we're also taking into consent the time shortage cuz sec 1 orientation is like next week!!!! anyway, basic layout is that we're going to showcase latin, ballet, tap, jazz and modern dance aside from hip-hop so i think it's going to be a pretty 'big' thing...i just think we need to branch out from our hip-hop only phase...
