all com members can you stay back for a while on friday, [meet at st rap canteen] we need to discuss what we are going to do with the dance notice board. mrs zailee wants it up by tuesday LATEST so we better get it done by monday...
soooo, we either finish it on friday itself or come back to school on saturday to do it, BUT, i think we should just get it over and done with on friday...CAN?????? if so, BRING: scissors, scotchtape, markers, construction glitter, coloured paper, glue, colour pencils etc..the normal la...and if you all got any nice pictures can bring or print. :)
and whoever wants to stay back and help also can!! and meanwhile can you all pls post what you want to see on the dance board and how it should be designed... Thanks!

well then everybody, MERRY CHRISTMAS! hope you all enjoy opening all the pressies that you all receive! :)
and stop thinking about over throwing mrs zailee...trust me i know what you all are thinking, but really, don't you think the main reason why you all don't like her is becuz mr tan was just simply the best, i know it's human nature to compare, but don't, cuz nobody can EVER match up to mr tan. ANYWAY, mrs zailee is a pretty good dance teacher!! i mean now we can change anywhere cuz we're all girls...[right??!!!] and she has pretty constructive suggestions too! you all are just automatically telling yourself that they're dumb, but only becuz it came from mrs zailee...not a good thing. don't zi4 shen1 zi4 mie4 or in english, don't cut of your nose to spite your face.
make the best out of things people, oh wait, let me share with you all my favourite quote: when life gives you lemons, make lemonade! :) yummm..whahahah!

heyhey!! im finally logging in with my "own" account!! my name aint ij dance anymore.. heh cool (: just invited myself like 10 times. the thing is soo screwyy ! bahh !

don't get confused ppl, Chee Wei is NOT i repeat is NOT trying to take over dance and overthrow mrs zailee!!!! whahahahah!!! i know some of you are thinking that...i think he'll be more like the right hand man? but tell you the truth im not to sure myself...whahahah!!! i still think he's plann sounds cool anyway, i'll be great if mrs zailee accepted it...

this is an email i received from Chee Wei, i just think you all should know what he is planning for us because it sounds pretty GOOD!!!!!! ALTHOUGH............he's not in charge and everything you read below will only happen IF Mrs Zailee says yes.....
Chee Wei: Well to be very honest with you I am still VERY confused. We have proposed to your school ECA teachers (aka mrs Zaili) to manage your dance ensemble and to bring it to greater heights. But we have not actually have any firm answer from any of your teachers / school that they do want us to manage your group. Of course. In fact we already have a 2 years masterplan for your dance ensemble and we have already submitted it to Mrs Zaili (in october!) but... still no news. if we are managing your dance ensemble I will definately plan several interesting and enriching courses which will (I hope) help your dance ensemble move on to it's next step...
Some examples of things which we have planned on our end (on top of your regular dance training) includes..
- Australia exchange program (June / December 2004) with Sydney Dance Co. This was supposed to happen this year but I have no idea what happened but it didn't materialise.
- Specialise Dance workshops conducted by Darrin Henson. Darrin is kind of a personal friend of mine (we worked on a few projects together) and he is the choreographer behind, Britney Spears, NSYNC, Enrique and a few others. He's planning to visit singapore in August and he's verbally agreed to do me a favour by conducting a 2-3 days workshop thingy..[i just have to take him out for dinner!] OMG!!!!!!!!!! ARRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!! :D
- Workshops on Choreography
- Workshops on Production / Creative Services which will include:
Musical Selection
- Styles
- Rhythms
- Mixing
- Editing
- Suitability
- Learning to ‘hear’ the choreography

If you remember, Lava, my Indian Collegue came down one day to ask you, what do you want to see in your dance ensemble? I would be a lot more interested to work in a way where we manage all the aspects of your dance ensemble (from syllabus to performance to Image).. rather than a project by project basis... but the choice is not up to us. and we will have to respect your schools / teachers' choice.. even if they choose to sit on it forever..
So far all these performances which you have done are from my personal contacts, and I'm still helping dance ensemble but it seems to be more like a voluntary basis rather than a anything else.. There is a limit to what a volunteer should do. . and I'm glad that some of you do appreciate my services.

Chee Wei:Actually your performances are not that amateurish.. it just needs some polishing and some basic dancer's discipline.. The ideas and the direction of Fused and evolution is definately right. What's important in that item is... for people to enjoy it..
Though I am not a professional dancer / choreographer, I have seen a number of performances and I'd like to assure you that your performances are indeed not bad at all!. But like I said it's not perfect. In fact, it is already commendable that you did the choreo yourselves. it is also commendable that your dancers (most of them) had the energy on stage (though I felt that the Singapore Rojak one was the best).
On the whole, I do not have enough information on what's happening to your dance ensemble other than that I know that you have dance works and dance night. But my advice for you and the entire committe is for you to draw out a plan, whether or not we are managing your group.
Set a target like for example:
1) How many competitions does dance ensemble want to take part this year? (set a limit! dance is NOT about competing.. though it does provide a challenge)
2) How many public performances does the dance ensemble want to be involved in over the next 12 months? (set a minimum and maximum figure)
3) How many school performances (like national day, teachers day celebration) will dance ensemble take part in this year (set a reasonable limit... )
4) If the dance ens. is going australia in december, how much funds should the dance ens. raise? how?
5) How can you raise the positioning (image) of Dance Ensemble? How can you turn Dance Ensemble from a normal CCA into an "elite and prestigious group where only the best gets in?"
These are some basics which you have to sit down, think and discuss.. of course, not forgetting that most of you are having your "O" next year... Please don't neglect your academic work for dance.. or you'll make me feel really guilty. also.. , I do hope to see commitment from your members.. especially from the Commitee.. as the EXCO members you have to lead by example.. If a country can fail because of a poor government, what more could happen if your com. members are slacking?
you and any of your comm. members are most welcomed to email me if you have any further questions or if you ever want me to sit in for your meetings as an "advisor".. to make sure that your planning is in the "right direction"...

Miss teow brought up a point that we put in so much effort into our dances and yet the crowd turn out is not very good. We are also not performing to the "right audience" in the case that when we went for the SANA performance they were all elderly people in their 70s or 80s and probably had no idea what the heck we were jumping about on stage for!!!
Furthermore, there will also be a mega count down party at sentosa aimed at young adults who can actually appreciate these sort of things, thus i feel that your estimated turn-out of 15000 is a bit over exxergerated because i feel that the bulk of the 'hip and happening' crowd will be over at Setosa instead of at Orchad.
We definately appreciate the exposure but dance has somewhat 'officially' closed for the year and bringing back teachers and dancers to practice for the dance will not be very convienient. However, you might want to talk to Mrs Zailee or Miss Teow because while i don't care whom im performing to [as long as im performing] i think both of them want a break...
well i for one think that Chee Wei has like done a fantastic job with his planning, doesn't all that just sound sooooo freaking cool!! Darrin Henson!!!!!! i couldn't agree with you more jenna...everybody has their own prefrences and apparently, i think that blog skin sux.. that does not qualify me as rude..becuz if i am then you have bad taste...:p whahahah..

yay!! finally dance has a bloggg!!! of cuz it's probably not asthetically as ARC's blog but it's still ok right!!! hahha!! and we didn't copy you all are!! we were just a little bit later..hahaha! so that's it dancers! have fun posting! and remember to leave your name after you post so that we all know who's posting..
